Past Greats

L/H Bat L/A Spin bowler Club Veteran Archie has played for Hanslope for 93 years and has used the same bat throughout. Archie kept wicket for Hanslope in the late 1990's but has now concentrates on his aggressive batting and useful spin bowling. Not one to mess around, Archie has never run a single in his life and prefers to make the fielding side do all the running, usually to the boundary! This big hitting is enabled by the comfort and support he gets from his 'massive' pants which the army have recently started to use as a twelve-man tent. 2002 will see Archie retire as club Chairman and it is hoped that Archie will continue to play on Sundays for years to come - or at least until his bat finally falls apart.
